Arizona Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium | Phoenix Attractions

Bringing the kids on vacation to Arizona? The Wildlife World Zoo is a great way to spend the day. This zoo is located just west of Phoenix. It is a fun experience because you are allowed to view the different animals at a much closer range than an average zoo.

What to See at the Wildlife Zoo

A privately owned zoo it houses the most exotic animals in the state of Arizona and is home to over 2400 animals. One of the favorite stops for the kids is feeding the giraffes. Make sure you bring some quarters, so you have can have your turn feeding these spotted giants.

The White tigers will draw a large crowd especially when they have babies. The giant desert tortoise is cool too. The kids always enjoy watching them eat. For younger kids the World Wildlife Zoo has a nice petting zoo, personally I like it a little better than the Phoenix Zoo because they have a lot more animals that the kids can pet and feed.

Another must stop here is the Lory Parrot feeding area. Check the times on the brochure when you arrive, usually there are a few times per day that you can feed these beautiful birds from your hand.

The World Wildlife Zoo opened their aquarium in 2008. Currently there are three aquarium buildings. This is the only public aquarium in the Valley, something that a city this size sorely needs. The Stingrays were a very popular gathering spot when we visted. The large pool of stingrays allows you to pet and feed them.

Tip: Just like anyone Zoo visit as early as possible in the day-the animals are more likely to be out and the weather is cooler in the morning.

Save Money While Visiting the Zoo

Save $$ Costco sells Hickman Eggs and there are two for one coupons located inside the egg cartons (as of 2014). This is a great deal for families. So buy some eggs and go to the zoo!
