Airport Mesa Vortex in Sedona Arizona

Airport Mesa in Sedona is one of the best spots to watch the sunset in Sedona. It is also very popular, so get here early if you want to share your romantic evening with dozens of other people. Seriously though, this is a must see spot whether you choose to watch the sunset or take in the view any other time of day.

Take the winding road up towards the Sedona airport, you will see a small dirt parking area to your left. A short hike up to Overlook Point for some great views and some twisted juniper trees. From the top of Overlook Point, more commonly referred to as Airport Mesa, you can see Bell Rock, Coffee Pot Rock and Courthouse Buttes.

From Airport Mesa you can take several hiking trails. Overlook Point is a very short climb up a knobby hill that is located directly to the left of the dirt parking area.

For some views without any hiking or climbing, continue driving towards the airport. There is a larger parking area to your left and to your right there is a large "flat" area for you to view Sedona.
