Visiting the Rainbow Trout Farm in Sedona Arizona
|
When I was a kid we lived by a river and all you had to do was drop a fishing line in and you would get fish in no time. Unfortunately that has not been our experience with our kids. Due to their frustration of not catching anything, we decided to take them to the Rainbow Trout Farm where we were positive they would get to experience catching their own fish. Drive aprox. 3 miles north of uptown Sedona on 89A and look to your left for a sign that says "Rainbow Mobile Home and Natural Springs" turn here, go across a small bridge and to your left. If you get to Slide Rock Park you've gone too far! They will gut and clean your fish, you can then grill your fresh catch there at the park and have a picnic or get some ice and wait until you get home. You can also get a handful of fish food for 25 cents and feed the fish. There are so many of them they will jump out of the water when you throw the food in. If you are looking for a lazy inexpensive day of fishing or catch and release-this would not be the place for you. If you do not have the patience for fishing or simply like us and want your kids to experience catching their own fish but haven't had such good luck- the Rainbow Trout farm is a great way to spend some time with the family.
Address: 3500 State 89A
