Phoenix Area Lakes

Six lakes are located within an hour from metro  Phoenix.

Located within the Tonto National Forest, Roosevelt Lake is the largest lake in Arizona and has over 20,000 acres of water.  Bass, channel catfish, sunfish and crappie are some of the fish can be found in this lake. There are several campgrounds to choose from.

With 10,000 acres of water, Lake Pleasant is the second largest lake in Arizona. This local favorite offers camping, boat rentals, fishing, and hiking trails in northwest Peoria.

Saguaro Lake  in Mesa is another popular lake to fish. Catfish, Rainbow Trout, Walleye, Tilapia, and Yellow Perch call Saguaro Lake home.

The Apache Trail is one of the most scenic drives in the Phoenix area. Canyon Lake is a popular lake along this trail. It isn't  as large as some of the other lakes,  but it is one of the prettiest lakes in Arizona. Canyon Lake offers hiking trails, camping, and boating.

Apache Lake is also near the Apache Trail  It is just downstream from Roosevelt Lake.

Bartlett Lake is just over 2,000 acres and located 22 miles east of Carefree. It is a popular fishing lake and is home to bass, crappie, sunfish, catfish, carp and crayfish.

Lake Havasu located on the border of Arizona and California. This lake is a popular spring break destination and is home to the London Bridge.
