Beautiful Views of The bridge and island
Mackinac Island is located off a Pennisula by Lake Huron-almost to Canada! We visited in July which even that time of year it is kind of cool there. We stayed in a little cabin off the island. We stayed in Mackinaw City and then took the ferry to the island. We played miniature golf in the city and visited various historic lighthouses. Here is a picture of the Mackinaw bridge (built in 1957) that connects Michigan and Wisconsin. You can spend a lot of money here easily-not a cheap place to vacation.
The Mackinac Bridge is an incredible structure -the third largest suspension bridge in the world-The Mackinaw Bridge connects the lower and upper peninsula's of Michigan. You can drive to the northern part of Wisconsin if you cross this bridge.
There are many things to do in the small city of Mackinaw, but this area is all about the island.
