Payson Arizona Vacation

Payson is a short drive from Phoenix-about 90 miles. Take the Beeline Hwy (87) and you are on your way to cooler temps and some beautiful spots.

It is considered the heart of Arizona's Rim Country and draws a lot of tourists looking to enjoy the national forest that surrounds Payson and at an elevation of 5000 relief from the hot desert sun. The Mongollon Rim region is the perfect spot to escape the desert's summer heat. Nestled in the Tonto National Forest this area is characterized by high limestone and sandstone cliffs.

With several lakes, ponderosa pines and the lush White Mountains near by, this area has some incredible hiking opportunities and is a favored destination for nature lovers.

Best known for the beautiful Tonto Natural Bridge State Park, Payson has wonderful spots to camp amongst the towering pines, endless hiking opportunities, above all peace and quiet.
