This fun stop is along the scenic drive to the Apache Trail. Located in Apache Junction just outside of Phoenix, this is a fun place to visit to experience the Old West. One of the family fun activities in and around Phoenix.
Visiting Goldfield Ghost Town
Visit on the weekend to witness "mock shootouts" on town streets. Usually the streets have people in period costumes wandering around.
There are numerous old buildings to explore, stop in at the saloon, pick up some souvenirs at the general store , go horseback riding, pan for gold slivers, and the kids favorite- a train ride. All set with a beautiful backdrop of the Superstition and Goldfield mountains.

Directions from Phoenix: Take the 202 loop east out of downtown Phoenix to exit 26 East Brown Road. This turns into W. Lost Dutchman Blvd. Turn left on Idaho Road AZ-88 and turn right on N. Apache Trail. (about 45 minutes from downtown)
