Sahuaro Ranch Park in Glendale
Sahuaro Ranch Park is the nicest park in Glendale. This park is listed on the National Register of Historical Places and preserves one of the oldest ranches in the Valley.
The park is beautiful. When you enter if you park on the right you will immediately notice the beautiful home set among palm trees and rose garden surrounded by an old citrus grove.
What to See and Do at Sahuaro Ranch Park
You can walk around the ranch and view 13 of the original ranch buildings. There are tours available as well.
The rose garden is beautifully kept and my personal favorite to view. Bunnies, chickens, and roosters walk around the ranch area.
After walking through the historic area you can walk down the path through the wrought iron gate and this will lead you into the playground area.
There are three separate playgrounds, so no matter what your kids age there will be something for them. The older kids playground is something of a giant jungle gym, so if the kids love to climb this is a unique park you won't forget anytime soon after you visit.
The park holds several annual events each year:
* Juried Fine Arts Show, January
* Winter Tractor Show, February
* Children’s Art Show, April-May
* Youth Art Camp, July
* Ballet Under the Stars, September
* GlendOberfest - Fall Festival, October
In September you can see "Ballet Under the Stars" which is a free show and beautiful to watch. Here is a link with more info on this event: Ballet Under The Stars
