Things to Do in Phoenix- Salt River Tubing
Salt River Tubing
|
Floating down the cold Salt River is a perfect way to cool off and relax on a hot summer day. The scenery in Tonto National park is beautiful. The river is usually packed on the weekends and generally speaking there are not a lot of young kids here, this is usually an adult activity although we've seen more kids here recently. If you decided to rent a tube-You will need a driver's license and $15 cash to rent a tube at Salt River Tubing and board the bus to the river. Suggestions: bring a towel to drape over the tube (it gets really hot to the touch while you float), Lots of sunscreen, cooler that floats filled with drinking water and some snacks. While it is never recommended i can't imagine not bringing rope to tie the tubes together, but use your own good judgement. Stay away from the sides of the river where you are most likely to get stuck in weeds. Phone:480-984-3305 Location: past Mesa off the 202 Hours:Season opens in May $15.00 for tube and bus ride (kids must be 8+ years)
